Legislative context Information to be managed by IMI: • A public register of all engine types and engine families for which EU type-approvals have been granted, extended, refused or withdrawn; • Notifications between approval authorities and to the CION on EU type-approvals granted, refused, withdrawn, extended or revised and, upon request, on EU type-approval certificates; • Manufacturers notifications on the validity of EU-type approvals to the approval authority which granted it and from the later to other approval authorities; Internal market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs

Legislative context The Commission shall ensure that IMI: • Makes possible the exchange of data and information relating to EU type-approvals between manufacturers or technical services, and national authorities or the CION; • Gather this information centrally and made it accessible to the national authorities and to the Commission; • provides public access to certain data and information relating to: o the results of type-approvals, and o monitoring results of in-service engines; • in agreement with the Member States concerned, facilities for the automatic transfer of data between existing national databases and IMI.
