COMPUTER SCIENCE CONSIDERATIONS Computer Science will be introducing a new curriculum with courses starting in the upcoming spring semester. Here is a link for their transition plan (http: //fall 2021. uvacs. org). • If you want to major in Computer Science or Computer Engineering AND already have credit for CS 1110/1111/1112: • Wait until the spring to take DSA 1 and CSO 1 (new courses) in the spring instead of CS 2110 • If you really want to take a course in the fall, take CS 2120. • If an incoming first year who wants to be CS does take CS 2110 in the fall, that's okay, but their options for taking later courses are going to be very limited. As in, they HAVE to take CS 2150 within the next two semesters before it goes away, etc. • If you want to major in Systems Engineering AND already have credit for CS 1110/1111/1112: • Take CS 2110 in the fall or the spring. • Spring 2022 will be the last semester this course is offered (Systems will have to make a decision on a course to take its place in their curriculum and students will then take that course after spring 2022) 7

STANDARD SCHEDULE EXCEPTIONS: ENGR 2595 (PILOT) This fall, UVA Engineering is piloting a few new courses that may become part of a revised “core curriculum” for all UVA Engineering students. Some students have been randomly selected to take part in the pilot for ENGR 2595 – Engineering Foundations, which is a combination of ENGR 1624 and STS 1500. This is a two semester course so students enrolled in the fall will need to enroll in the second half of the course for the spring semester. This two semester course will satisfy the ENGR 1624 and STS 1500 requirements. 11

STANDARD SCHEDULE EXCEPTIONS: ENGR 2595 (CLARK SCHOLARS) The Clark Scholars will be enrolled in their own section of ENGR 2595, which is a seminar specifically for this population with Devin Harris assigned as the instructor. 12
