To date: • Responded to EDF Energy’s Stage 2 public consultation raising outstanding concerns

To date: • Responded to EDF Energy’s Stage 2 public consultation raising outstanding concerns and requesting additional information; • Responded to SPR’s Stage 3. 5 consultation raising concerns with the choice of onshore location for substations; • Convened and Chaired 4 meetings of the local authorities with EDF Energy, National Grid Ventures and Scottish Power Renewables to ensure cross project working; • Beginning to re-engage with EDF Energy in relation to Sizewell C proposals, Stage 3 public consultation SCDC response agreed by Cabinet a week ago, draft response on behalf of WDC with Cllrs; and Presentation by: Lisa Chandler

To date cont: • Drafting a response to SPR’s Stage 4 public consultation, summary of response agreed at SCDC cabinet last week, response on behalf of WDC Cllrs to be drafted; • Written to Greg Clark MP, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and James Brokenshire MP, Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government raising 4 key concerns: 1. Different consenting regimes. 2. In-combination assessment of impacts. 3. Co-ordination between energy providers to obtain the optimum location for energy development. 4. Community compensation packages. • A meeting with Claire Perry MP, Minister of State (BEIS), Energy and Clean Growth was arranged with Therese Coffey MP on 18 July 2018 to discuss these concerns and there has been ongoing correspondence since. A follow -up letter to Greg Clark was sent end of Nov 2018 signed by the Leaders of SCDC, WDC and SCC. A further follow up letter is currently being drafted. Presentation by: Lisa Chandler
