End-Point Presentation By Marlena Pell Galen College of Nursing-RN to BSN Program January 24, 2018

Introduction My name is Marlena Pell. The goal of this presentation is to identify strengths and area of growth that I achieved during the Galen RN to BSN program. I will also identify weaknesses and an action plan for continued growth.

Growth General Education, BSN Program Student Learning Outcomes (PSLO), and BSN Essentials. Critical Thinking Communication Communicate in a professional manner Evidence Based Practice Using current articles to support nursing practices

Essential IV: Information Management and Application of Patient Care Technology Use information technology for the management and impact of patient outcomes Currently not using technology these form of technology in workplace Research and read evidence based articles about current technologies being used Continued Education classes online that give information about latest technology.

Essential V: Health Care Policy, Finance, and Regulatory Environments Knowledge of the impact of healthcare policy, finance, and regulatory environments on local, state, federal, and global healthcare. Little knowledge of regulatory boards, how bills were passed, and how to advocate for bills Learned how to contact US congress representatives and advocate for current bills Explored state Board of Nursing and found out who the governing board members are and how to contact them.

Action Plan Continue to contact US Congress representatives and advocate for bills regarding domestic violence, and early cancer detection. Go to the State Board of Nursing and stay up to date on issues that support nurses. Get involved in local efforts to help prevent domestic violence. Continue education through online classes and conference to learn more about the latest technologies. Continue to read evidence based articles about the newest technologies.
