End Punctuation • End marks—periods, question marks, and exclamation points—are used to indicate the purpose of a sentence. • Periods are used for declarative statements • Question Marks are used for questions, which are usually identified by question words– who, what, where, why, how, when. • Exclamation Points are used after exclamations or strong commands

Commas • There are three main times to use commas correctly. 90% of the time you will ever have to use a comma will fit under one of these three times. (Dates, Places, and Quotations aren’t included in these main three. )
