Detailed Physical Exam (18 point) Begin your exam, remember DCAP-BTLS. • Inspects and palpates the scalp and ears Assess the head • Assesses the eyes • Assesses the facial, oral and nasal areas • Inspects and palpates the neck Assess the neck • Assesses for JVD • Assesses for tracheal deviation • Inspects Assess the chest • Palpates • Auscultates

Critical Criteria Failure to perform any of the following will result in a fail. • Did not take or verbalize BSI precautions • Did not determine scene is safe • Did not assess for spinal protection. • Did not provide for spinal protection when indicated. • Did not provide high concentration of oxygen
