Employee Self-Service (ESS) Portal Multifactor Authentication and Knowledge- Based Authentication Login Process

Employee Self-Service (ESS) Portal To access ESS: • Navigate to www. county. org click the "Employee Self-Service (ESS) Portal" link at: mybenefits. county. org.

Login Screen Logging in to ESS: • Click “First time user” to create an Account. (All users will need an email address to log in. )

Multifactor Authentication (MFA) MFA enhanced security login: • Enter your UID number. • Enter the last four digits of your Social Security number. • Enter your birth date. • Click "Next. " Your UID is the nine-digit unique identification number found on the front of your Blue Cross Blue Shield medical ID card.

Multifactor Authentication (MFA) (cont’d) If you do not have a UID number, enter: • Your full Social Security number. • Your date of birth. • Click "Next. "

Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) Confirming your identity: • Correctly answer three of the next four random questions. • Click "Next. "

Account Setup Establish username: • Enter your email address. Your email address will be your username. • Confirm email address and click "Next. " (All users will need an email address to set up an account. )

Verification Code Verify by email: • A six-digit verification code will be sent to the email you entered. • Click "Continue" to also verify by phone.

Verification Code (Cont’d) Verify by phone: • Enter a phone number to receive another six-digit verification code by phone. • Choose "Send Code" for a text message verification code or "Call Me" to get an automated phone call.

Password Setup Authentication & Access: • Set up password. • Click "Save. "

Authorization Online authorization: • Accept the online authorization. • Access is granted to ESS.

ESS PORTAL HOME SCREEN ESS portal home screen: • Login is successful. • Browse to view your benefits and county or district resources.
