Several Action Response to FAW: q scouting and monitoring for the FAW pest has been conducted continuously for the maize field. q the use of in-country registered pesticides that are recommended to effectively control FAW q Pest management of FAW through Integrated Pest Management (IPM) q Other pest control methods used in conjunction with pesticides as part of an IPM approach. These include agronomic practices, cultural, physical and mechanical method. Besides, registered pesticides are recommend to control FAW q Farmers are advise not to practice staggered planting system for breaking the life cycle of FAW q Stakeholders had been told report to the Plant Biosecurity Division or the nearest Department of Agriculture office if there is infestation by FAW
PESTICIDES CONTROL The use of pesticides recommended by the Pesticide Board. Proper spraying methods and appropriate rates are important to ensure that the pesticides used are effective and at the same time do not endanger the health and the environment. Some of the pesticides that recommended are cypermethrin, emamectin benzoate, spinosad, indoxacarb, chlorantraniliprole dan flubendiamide.
