ETIQUETTE � conventional requirements as to social behavior; proprieties of conduct as established in any class or community or for any occasion.
Be concise and to the point
�Use proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Use proper structure & layout! � It is harder to read from a screen than a paper. � Therefore, use short paragraphs and blank lines between each paragraph.
�Do NOT overuse the high priority option.
Do not write in capitals. � IF YOU WRITE IN CAPITALS, MOST READERS WILL ASSUME YOU ARE SHOUTING. � This could be offensive to someone reading your email.
Read the email, before you send it!
Take care with abbreviations and emoticons � In business, people do not use abbreviations like you do when you text. Example –LOL-laugh out loud The person receiving the abbreviations might not know what it means. It is also unprofessional. Make sure when emailing me or your classmates regarding assignments and classwork that you do NOT use texting lingo. Same goes for emoticons. Ex. the smiley
Copying � Do not copy a message or attachment without permission. � You could be breaking copyright laws.
Confidentiality � Do not use email to discuss confidential information.
Avoid long sentences.
