The waterworks supply about 14’ 500 people from 4 wells. Each well has a capacity of about 60 l/s. 2 www. umb. no The aquifer is large and the water quality, the water temperature and water level are stable. However, the water contains too high concentrations of iron and manganese. This is removed «in-situ» by the Vyredox method. 2

By oxygenation of the water that is pumped from the main well and reinjection of this water through the recharge wells, the redox conditions are changed so that iron precipitates in-situ.
