Terms and Conditions of ELSA Delegations 3. 3. Financial and material assistance ELSA International does not cover any costs incurred throughout the participation in an ELSA Delegation, including but not limited to, travel, accommodation, subsistence and insurance expenses.

Responsibilities of an ELSA Delegate • “A just world in which there is respect for human dignity and cultural diversity ” in words and actions • Not express any political or partisan views on behalf of ELSA International, or any other views that could be assimilated to ELSA International’s position, during an ELSA Delegation; • Represent ELSA International diligently in a professional manner

Responsibilities of an ELSA Delegate • Academic preparation • Attendance in briefings and meetings regarding the relevant ELSA Delegation + briefings and meetings organised by the Head of Delegation • Forward all the contacts made during the event to ELSA International
Terms and Conditions of ELSA Delegations 4. 2. Responsibilities of an ELSA Delegate • Insurance that protects them from any kind of harm that could result from their travel, stay and attendance to the ELSA Delegation. • The ELSA Delegate shall request ELSA International in advance for any official positions or statements they wish to make, attaching a summary of the scientific background. The positions or statements can be announced only after the approval of ELSA International • Fill in the survey within 2 weeks after the ELSA Delegation

Cancelation policy • EI reserves the right to cancel the ELSA Delegation at any moment: • As a result of the earlier cancellation or change in the programme of the ELSA Delegation by the relevant organisation • For security reasons, when the safety of the ELSA Delegates would not be ensured • EI shall inform the ELSA Delegates about the cancellation as soon as possible • In the event of a cancellation, ELSA International shall not be held liable for any expenses incurred by ELSA Delegates to attend the cancelled ELSA Delegation
Terms and Conditions of ELSA Delegations 6. Civil liability ELSA International shall not be held liable for any accident, voluntary or involuntary harm, or any other damage or loss that the ELSA Delegate might suffer in connection with participation in the ELSA Delegation.
How to be selected as an ELSA Delegate? New selection criteria Selection criteria consists of 4 criteria, as: • • CV Motivation letter ELSA Knowledge and Contribution to ELSA’s activities Appreciation of ELSA International For each criterion, an application can be granted by points on scale from 1 to 10
How to be selected as an ELSA Delegate? New selection criteria Curriculum Vitae (CV) • 1 -2 points – Absence of CV no CV provided • 3 -4 points – Low level of CV complete CV, lack of relevant experience, educational and professional background • 5 -6 points – Medium level of CV complete CV with relevant experience and educational and/or professional background
How to be selected as an ELSA Delegate? New selection criteria Curriculum Vitae (CV) • 7 -8 points – Serious CV complete CV and presents high-level educational and professional experience; and extracurricular activities, which however are not necessarily linked to the relevant ELSA Delegation • 9 -10 points – High level of CV outstanding CV, with relevant, educational and professional experience; highlighted extracurricular activities are linked to the relevant ELSA Delegation
How to be selected as an ELSA Delegate? New selection criteria Motivation letter • 1 -2 points – Absence of motivation lacks or presents low interest in ELSA Delegations and topic of the relevant session; no demonstration how participation will benefit the Applicant academically or professionally; not exceed 200 words. • 3 -4 points – Low level of motivation presents interest in ELSA Delegations, but lacks a precise interest of in the topic of the relevant session; low demonstration how participation will benefit the Applicant academically or professionally; not exceed 300 words • 5 -6 points – Medium motivation presents interest in ELSA Delegations and the topic of the relevant session; average demonstration how participation will benefit the Applicant academically or professionally; exceeds 300 words

New selection criteria Motivation letter • 7 -8 points – Serious motivation presents interest in ELSA Delegations and the topic of the relevant session; demonstrates well how participation will benefit the Applicant academically or professionally; exceeds 300 words • 9 -10 points – High level motivation demonstrates a serious motivation, backed by knowledge and relevant curriculum, possibly professional experience in the relevant field; high demonstration how participation in the respective ELSA Delegation will benefit the Applicant academically or professionally; exceeds 300 words
How to be selected as an ELSA Delegate? New selection criteria ELSA Knowledge and Contribution to ELSA’s activities • 1 -2 points – Absence of ELSA knowledge and no contribution to ELSA’s activities an minor knowledge about ELSA, its projects and activities; never attended nor organised ELSA event or did not provide an ELSA CV at all • 3 -4 points – Low level of knowledge and low contribution to ELSA’s activities an ELSA member or ELSA alumnus, knows that ELSA is a students’ association and that it advocates for human rights; took part in less than 3 ELSA events and never took part in organising one • 5 -6 points – Medium level of knowledge and medium contribution to ELSA’s activities an ELSA member or ELSA alumnus who knows the vision of ELSA and can explain the functioning of it; took part in more than 3 ELSA events and took part in organising at least 1 ELSA event

New selection criteria ELSA Knowledge and Contribution to ELSA’s activities • 7 -8 points – Serious knowledge and high contribution to ELSA’s activities is aware of the vision of ELSA and understands the functioning of the association; took part in more than 5 ELSA events and took part in organising at least 3 ELSA events. • 9 -10 points – High level knowledge and high contribution to ELSA’s activities demonstrates an impressive level of knowledge about the association, its structure and its functioning; took part in more than 5 ELSA events and took part in organising at least 3 ELSA events
How to be selected as an ELSA Delegate? New selection criteria Appreciation of ELSA International • 1 -2 points – Bad application EI believes that the applicant should not be appointed because of a bad quality application, that does not fit any international standards and lacks motivation, relevant knowledge and experience, or is insulting or inappropriate • 3 -4 points – Low level application EI believes that the applicant is not convincing due to low quality of the application, shows poor background of being prepared to represent the association within IO • 5 -6 points – Medium medium application EI believes that despite some lacks and imprecisions the applicant should be given at least the opportunity of being chosen as a substitute

New selection criteria Appreciation of ELSA International • 7 -8 points – Serious serious application EI believes that the applicant is a serious candidate and is suited to represent ELSA within IO • 9 -10 points – High level application EI believes that the applicant is suited to represent ELSA within IO, due to an excellent application; could be appointed as Ho. D
