Solar water pump specifications

Principle of functioning Solar-powered pump is a pump running on electricity generated pump by photovoltaic panels or thermal energy available from collected sunlight as opposed to grid electricity or diesel run water pumps.

The composition of the solar pumping system The pump : Direct contact with water The controller : Control of the system of pumping and marking of the status of functioning The Photovoltaic panels : generator of electricity

ELFA energy proposes 3 solar pumps: ELFA 1 • Maxi height : 50 m • Flow : 28 [m 3/h] • Power supply voltage : 100 V ELFA 2 • Maxi height : 100 m • Flow : 46 [m 3/h] • Power supply voltage : 200 V ELFA 3 • Maxi height : 160 m • Flow : 112 [m 3/h] • Power supply voltage : 230 V

Ⅱ. Reasons to sell solar water pumps ■ Abundant of solar energy： 3000 h/y sunshine ■ Huge Groundwater storage volume of groundwater in Morocco/ Africa =7410/660000 ≈0. 1%

Ⅱ. Reasons to sell solar water pumps ■ Relative shallow depth to ground water

Ⅲ. Reasons to choose irrigated land in rural areas 1. Importance of irrigated land ■ Irrigated land / arable land= 15, 000 km²/95, 000 km² ≈ 16% Arable land/land area 95, 000 km²/459, 000≈21% ■ the output accounts 45% (70% in dry years)of the average annual agricultural production.

Ⅲ. Reasons to choose irrigated land in rural areas 2. Main water user- Agriculture (Irrigation) ■ Agriculture is the biggest user of water resource (surface water + groundwater). (3945/4270≈92%). ■ And 75% of water for irrigation is from groundwater ■ The rural population is around 13, 840, 000, accounts 40% of total population. ■ Approximately 70% of rural Moroccans lack of clean drinking water Data Source: Worldbank, World Development Indicators 3. Drinking water problem in rural areas

Logistics and legal aspect

Position of the Moroccan state on the solar water pumps Ø Moroccan state = really involved in the development of the solar energy in the country. a partnership has resulted in the creation of a program to pump solar energy: - 400 million dirham budget - Goal : set up 3. 000 photovoltaic systems of pumping - Objective: help small and medium-sized farmers to equip themselves with water pumps that use the energy generated by solar panels in order to improve the agricultural production and productivity while saving water and energy. - Energy savings realized thanks to this program will cover the amount of the help given by the Moroccan state. - Help given by Morocco: not more than 50% of the cost of the setting up within a limit of 75. 000 dirham i. e. 5 hectares - Help from the state: gives farmers access to clear water to drink, to cook and to irrigate their crops

Transport Ø Our choice of means of transport = sea transport Disadvantages: - slowest means of transport longer delivery times - risk of a raging sea, piracy Advantages: - cheapest and best adapted method of transporting heavy and bulky products like our solar water pumps - possibility of storage within the port installations - numerous geographical locations can be connected Ø Our choice of Incoterms : FOB (Free on Board) Marseilles

Legal aspect Our solar water pumps = part of the products that are free of import in Morocco We only have to subscribe to a commitment of import with a pro forma invoice which will enable the merchandises to pass the Customs and to pay for the merchandises. We can also ask for an exemption from customs duties as France is part of the European Community, which has signed an agreement with Morocco. Our product will also be submitted to the single goods declaration document Concerning the customs duties, we can say that our product will be subjected to the sales tax fixed at 20% but also to the parafiscal tax of 0. 25 % of imported commodities.

Conclusion More efficient Great location to export to Strong marketing techniques Product is in high demand desirable Positive legal ties Distribution by sea
