Color � Colors are seldom seen in isolation. Much of the richness and variety

Color � Colors are seldom seen in isolation. Much of the richness and variety of color is due to the complex ways in which colors react to one another. � The apparent value and intensity of a color is especially dependent upon the other colors that happen to surround it.

First Order Colors � Any color of the spectrum can be made by mixing

Contrast � Contrast describes the way in which the differences between two colors are intensified by bringing them into direct contact with one another. � The value or intensity of a color can appear to be increased or diminished, depending on its neighboring colors

Complementary Colors � Complementary colors placed side by side will tend to intensify each
