Neutrons below 2. 6 x 1012 1 Mev neutrons/cm 2 over 10 years Hadrons with an energy above 20 Mev below 6. 4 x 1011 hadrons/cm 2 Magnetic field below 200 Gauss (further shielding may be possible) 9

The microprocessor control to be removed from the output voltage control loop • n n At the moment, the input data for DAC and PWM controller comes from the microprocessor All protection, OVP, OCP should be achieved by means of a voltage reference and not by the microprocessor Threshold could be set by a resistive divider according to the user specification 15

Control - MCU should • • Set on/off Trim output voltage in specified range • • • Within a defined range Use the DAC, but with a hardware lock Monitor 3. Interlock • • Crate should have interlock IN/OUT connected straight to the DCDC PWM bypassing the MCU to read the status only 16

In this case it is possible to “have access” to the supply in any case of MCU problems and keep the electronics running by HWLOCK Output voltage constrained to remain within safe limits n n OVP & OCP is still functional independently of MCU In case of "soft" SEE, the MCU would not be destroyed n The connection would be lost only for few seconds because of power cycling 17
