What is EHRM? A VA modernization effort that is committed to: • Provide high-quality, integrated care and benefits, improved patient safety, and seamless care coordination for Veterans • Enable health care professionals who serve Veterans access to complete patient EHRs • Promote interoperability and transparent care pathways between VA, Do. D, and external providers • Move towards a unified and seamless EHR system: Cerner Millennium® (successfully being deployed by Do. Modernization: The Veteran Perspective • Having a unified EHR system will provide a single, accurate, lifetime health record • The overall quality of health care coordination and safety for Veterans will improve • Once VA adopts a unified EHR system, Veteran data will reside in one common system which: o Enables seamless care between both VA and Do. Scope: VA & Do. D Joint System • The adoption of a single joint system between VA and Do. D will allow all patient data to reside in a common system to have a seamless link between the Do. D and VA. • The Do. D authorized system will be augmented to include additional functionality to meet VA requirements. • VA’s EHRM is based on the EHR acquired by Do. D, also known as the MHS GENESIS system – Cerner Millennium® • The program will require a joint Do.
