Electrical Equipment – Brush 1. WHAT? Electric Brush Machine (also exists as battery one). 2. HOW? v The Electric Brush Machine comes with a handle & brush head attachments. v Brushes come in various sizes & textures from natural hair or nylon bristle. v Brushes should always be moistened with water before use to soften the bristles. v Controllable brush speed. v Brushes can be rotated clockwise & anticlockwise. Speed of rotation should be moderate & brushes should be applied gently over the skin. v Therapists do not need to rotate the brush as the machine does that for you. WHY? v Cleansing with Brush reinforces the manual cleanse in a Facial Treatment. v Desquamates by gently removing dead surface skin cells & helps remove skin blockages/congestion. v Stimulates blood circulation & improves skin colour. v Increases/stimulates cellular regeneration. 4. WHEN? v Can be used with a cleanser for deeper cleansing or with an exfoliant for more intense exfoliation. 5. WHERE? v The correct brush size must be chosen adequately for the area treated (e. g. How to clean & maintain the brushes? v After use, thoroughly wash & cleanse brushes in hot, soapy water & disinfect them by soaking in disinfecting solution. v Rinse well & allow to air dry. v Store them in a sanitiser container or in UV cabinet. 7. Contraindications to Brush Treatment? v Acne v Sensitive skin v Bruising, cuts & abrasions v New scar tissue v Loose flacid skin (e. g. when treating old people) v.
