El Subjuntivo en las Cláusulas Adverbiales Las Conjunciones de Tiempo (Subjunctive with Expressions of Time)
Subjunctive You use the subjunctive after certain conjunctions of time to show that you are not sure when or if something will happen.
Indicative You use the indicative with the same conjunctions of time, if the main clause refers to the present (always) or the past. Using the indicative shows that you are already CERTAIN about the outcome of the action described in the subordinate clause.

SUBJUNCTIVE = Not sure of outcome • Cuando vaya a Costa Rica, visitaré a unos amigos de la familia. • Tan pronto como llegue a Costa Rica, voy a probar las frutas tropicales. • Bucearán hasta que anochezca. • Avísame cuando sepas.
INDICATIVE=Certain of outcome • Cuando fuimos a Costa Rica, visitamos el museo. • Después de que visitaba un museo, siempre compraba algún regalo de la tienda del museo. • Cuando voy a Costa Rica, visito a unos amigos de la familia. • Bucearon hasta que anocheció. • Siempre me avisas cuando sabes.
AUNQUE - Subjunctive When aunque introduces a clause that expresses a possibility or a conjecture, it is followed by the subjunctive. • Aunque llueva manana, iremos a un parque nacional. (Even if it rains tomorrow, we’ll go to a national park. ) • Aunque no me creas, te digo que vi un quetzal durante mi visita a la Reserva Forestal de Monteverde. (Even though you may not believe me, I tell you I saw a quetzal during my visit to the Monteverde Forest Reserve. )
