El presente del progresivo Action is currently happening “-ing” form of the verb Use the present tense of estar + present participle Ejemplo: Estoy escuchando. (I am listening. ) Estamos comiendo. (We are eating. )
Los participios Drop the infinitive ending (-AR, -ER, -IR) of the verb and add the participle ending. -AR = ando -ER/-IR = iendo • Verbs that have a double vowel (leer, oir, creer) use “yendo. ” • Other special ones: durmiendo, sintiendo, pidiendo

Pronouns can go before “estar” or attached to the participle. Ella se está duchando. Ella está duchándose. (note: accent!)
El pasado del progresivo Emphasizes that an action was in progress at a particular time in the past. Specific time! Use “imperfect of ESTAR + present participle. ”
