What is the Imperfecto Progresivo? The Imperfecto Progresivo (Past Progressive) is the past tense equivalent to the Presente Progresivo (Present Progressive). It is used to talk about actions that were ongoing at some point in the past. Presente Progresivo Imperfecto Progresivo Juan está bebiendo un refresco Juan estaba bebiendo un refresco. Juan is drinking a soda. Juan was drinking a soda.
