분수+of+명사 (~의 몇 분의 몇), Most[half, part, the rest] of+명사 (~의 대부분[절반, 일부, 나머지]) of 뒤 명사의 수에 동사의 수 일치 Two-thirds of the students are male. Most of his time is spent in reading. The rest of the money is in my pocket.
a number of+명사: 복수 (많은) of the number of+명사: 단수 (~의 수) of We know a number of people are at risk. The number of cars on our roads rises dramatically.
each, every가 every 주어, 또는 이들의 수식을 받는 주어 단수 취급! Each of us sees the world differently. Every room is being used. Every one of the children was crying.
② 관계사절 동사의 일치 주어 역할의 관계대명사(who, which, that)가 이끄는 절의 동사는 선행사 수에 일치 Rome is a city which attracts a lot of tourists. Those are the newly married couple who live next door.
③ 대명사의 일치 대명사는 그 대명사가 가리키는 명사의 수에 반드시 일치시킨다! 일치 After Mike yelled at me, he left me without saying good-bye. Julia said her husband ignored her Fred and Mary wondered whether they should go to the party.
