Mental Health Court Program intended for: • chronic thought-disordered individuals • Involved in criminal justice system Key: Medication Maintenance
Eligibility Requirements Serious Mental Illness (SMI) including: • • • Schizophrenia Schizoaffective Disorder Bipolar Disorder Major Depression Disorder or Chronic Severe Anxiety.

Benefits to Participants • Mental health counseling (individual and group); • Medication stabilization; • Residential placement (as appropriate); • Individual and group substance abuse counseling; • Vocational Training/SSI Application; and • Incentives for goal accomplishment • (including food, shopping, and movie gift cards).
Treatment Includes: • Counseling sessions (Individual and Group); • Medication management; • Case management; • Probation supervision (GM/Felony only); • Residential placement (as appropriate); • Regular random drug testing (as appropriate); and • Regular court reviews.

• AOT is court-ordered treatment for individuals who have a history of medication noncompliance; the participant remains in the community with wraparound services, to ensure compliance and stabilization. • AOT Increases: • Treatment Compliance • Long-term voluntary compliance • AOT Reduces: • Incidence and duration of hospitalization • Homelessness • Arrests and incarcerations • Victimization • Violent episodes Assisted Outpatient Treatment
• 252 participants have been accepted into the program • As of April there was 70 active participants • Average monthly cost to house an AOT client with no income: • Intensive Supportive Living: $6, 990. 01 • Long Term Care: $3, 335. 11 • Supportive Living Arrangement: $2, 514. 83 • Inmate daily cost in Clark County Detention is $135 per day/ $4, 050 per month. • Daily cost in a NV state psychiatric inpatient facility is $850 per day/ $25, 500 per month.
