TEAMWORK Consists of many professionals with different levels of education, ideas, backgrounds, and interests working together for the benefit of the patient Examples of teams can be surgical team, dental office team, sports medicine team or oncology team When the team works well together, the patient receives QUALITY care!! It also provides “continuity of care”, pg 94

TEAMWORK FUNCTIONALITY Must understand the role and responsibility of each member of the team Should have a leader Should also have good interpersonal relationships to work effectively; the Golden Rule “treat others as you would want to be treated” Should have conflict resolution strategies Should understand your legal responsibilities or legal limitations (ie scope of practice)
