Motion Estimation – SAD n SAD Computation q q q Compute (Ai – Bi) for all 16 x 16 pixels in the two blocks A and B Determine which Ai – Bi is less than zero and produce the absolute value in that case, else produce Ai – Bi Perform accumulate operation to all 16 x 16 absolute values.
Saturation Arithmetic n Overflowed values will be represented as maximum values q Unsigned: 00… 0 h, FF…Fh n Example: q 6234 h + E 123 h => FFFFh (saturated)
