The Further Education System Goal: to contribute to enhance and streamline the activities of the judiciary ▪ to achieve a higher level of professionalism in probation and mediation activity ▪ to increase the qualifications of PMS employees ▪ improvement in the quality of professional activities including the preparation of materials for state attorneys, judges and police officers ▪ increase in a number of mediations in criminal matters ▪ improvement in the communication among PMS, judges, state attorneys and police officers ▪ improvement of the work with crime victims ▪ improvement of risk assessment skills
The Further Education System Education levels: • basic qualification requirements according to Act No. 257/2000 Coll. , on the Probation and Mediation Service • qualification/ specialization education – PMS official / PMS assistant • The Further Education System – PMS specialist • compulsory, long life further education Basic document adjusting education of PMS officials and assistant: The Study program for qualification, specialization and further education for PMS employees – approved by minister of justice (approved up to 2014)
The Further Education System The FES specialization: • Community Service • Probation (official supervision of the accused / charged) • Juveniles ( work with children and juveniles) • Home detention • Mediation • Parole
The Further Education System The System of Further, Specific Training of the PMS Czech Republic Staff • 1 November 2009 - 30 November 2010 • partnership with Correctional Services of Norway • exchange experience with good practices and establish long-term systematic cooperation between the probation services of the Czech Republic and Norway • activities: "Training of Trainers T 4 T„ Supervision of trained trainers • training 29 selected experts from PMS CR • exchange experience with good practices The Norwegian Financial Mechanism: 1 542 250, - Kč The project was co-financed by an EEA/Norwegian FM Block Grant, the Technical Assistance Fund, CZ-0001 -18/022 and the Czech Republic's state budget.

The Further Education System Previous PMS activities Placement FES between PMS priorities for years 2011 – 2012, activities: • mapping the interest of PMS workers in FES • mapping needs in the areas: – risk assessment skills – work with crime victim – professional dialogue • preparing training manual for lectors, realization four week-long risk assessment trainings • preparation „ The Director Instruct for introduction FES“ • incorporation of FES into the Study Educational System • formation FES graduate profiles in six specializations • working on educational plans of specializations ( realized) • preparation training manual for lectors: work with crime victim, professional interview

The Further Education System Project: The Further Education System for PMS employees The project includes: • system of educational events in the individual fields of expertise • supervision of teaching • interim and final conference • workshop on specialized topic • testing of the first graduates of FES Engagement of Norwegian colleagues : • organizing two conferences • preparing workshop – according to Norwegian colleagues needs • lecturing specific topics
