Chapter Involvement – what we’ve done Academic Peer Mentoring Individual mentoring allowing students referred by the Office of Academic Excellence to be paired with a SSP member to aid them in establishing good academic practices Workshops focusing on note taking, time management, test taking strategies, wellbeing, and course specific tips Faculty vs. Student Spelling Bee Fundraiser Sponsoring the event to raise funds for the Gaffney Free Clinic (A student-run clinic supervised by the chair of underserved care- Dr. Petra Warren)

Chapter Involvement – what we’ve done Journal Club Each block, an interested Sigma Phi member works with faculty to choose a pertinent journal club topic and articles. Members lead small groups of students to work through the article before coming together as a whole and learning about it with the faculty present.

Near Peer Tutor Program A 1 v 1 tutoring program led by OMSII Sigma Phi members for OMSI students. Board Review Support Groups Establishing a community of students helping students to both set and achieve goals together.
