Introduction/Topic Description Edgewater Park located just west of Downtown Cleveland, is comprised of over 130 acres of land with over 6, 000 feet of land overlooking the shoreline. The park runs between the memorial shore way and Lake Erie and is divided into upper and lower levels connected by a paved walking and jogging path. The goal of our presentation is to highlight the amenities of a local park in the Lakewood/Cleveland community in order to increase the awareness to individuals to promote healthy behaviors.
Background Previous to the late 2000 s, Edgewater was owned by the City of Cleveland it faced major issues with depleting resources, pollution, and general upkeep. The City of Cleveland then leased the park to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and the park now joins 5 other parks to make up Cleveland Lakefront State Park.

Health Promotion Improvement Could potentially offer a free workout at Edgewater Park every Saturday morning in order to promote physical activity and use of the exercise trail and equipment located at the park. We feel that the exercise trail and equipment is underutilized due to the lack of marketing present. This program could also bring awareness to the other amenities that Edgewater park offers and encourage group physical activity. Through socialization, the people attending the workout can tell their family and friends, bringing more people to the park.
