MY EDGE PROJECT I volunteered at the SUU Wellness Center over the course of one semester. I was involved in a number of events including: The annual Halloween Murder Mystery The “Walk in my Shoes” event Table sitting during Mental Health Week Mental Health Presentations
SKILLS I GAINED While sitting at the open tables during Mental Health Week, I learned how to effectively answer people’s questions and direct them to help them find their own answers. During the “Walk in my Shoes” event, I gained memorization skills and learned how to control my nerves while speaking in front of a group of people. There were many group meetings where I was able to amplify my skills as a team member and learned various ways to plan and organize events. As part of the decoration crew during the Halloween Murder Mystery, I helped set up the scenes and learned how to make the event flow correctly.
