Real Number System 1. Natural Number = counting numbers 2. Whole Number = N + 0 3. Integer = 0, ± 1, ± 2, … 4. Rational Number a/b Note 1: integer n is also a rational number n/1 = n. Note 2: if b = 0, a/b is undefined. Note 3: if a = 0, a/b = 0 5. Irrational Number =Numbers cannot be expressed as fractions as decimals, they never repeat or terminate. 6. Real Number = Rational Numbers + Irrational Numbers =all points in the number line.
