PFG • Aim is to provide a close link between the commissioning /DAQ/DQM teams and the ECAL analysis community • The prompt feedback group (PFG) members are in charge of: • Performing fast analyses to check properties of the data and assist with specific goals of technical or physics runs • Diagnosing and characterizing problems when they arise and answering requests from the experts at P 5 • Deploying tools to achieve all of the above, in a coherent and documented fashion • Compiling list of known problems and solutions • The PFG works ~every day: not just during global runs but also during day-to-day ECAL operations • Have at least one member “on duty” every day that data taking is planned, with increased support during global runs Referee 22/07/09 SR 18

ECAL shifts planning (1) ECAL needs to provide 3 types of shifters: 1. Our own ECAL shifters: 2 persons each shift in 2009 2. Run Field Manager: a person that takes care of day-by-day operation for an extended period of time (like 2 -3 weeks at a time). 3. Central shifters provided by ECAL to run CMS (semi-experts willing to learn) Referee 22/07/09 SR 31

M&O-B 2008 Referee 22/07/09 SR 34
M&O-B 2010 Preliminary Draft Budget n n In 2010, the total budget for Material Resources should amount to 1433 k. CHF (as in 2008 and 2009). 200 k. CHF will be devoted to the 3 rd and last payment of crystals for the 37 th SM. In 2011 the total budget should decrease to 1343 k. CHF : we have to forecast the replacement of parts, including the filtering unit of the Cooling Plant. Referee 22/07/09 SR 35
M&O B time profiles presented to RRB 04 -2008 n M&O B for next years to be discussed at CMS level Referee 22/07/09 SR 36
