Eatwell Guide Food Home Learning – Week 1 The government predict that almost 13 million people in the UK are obese. These people are at risk of conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and strokes. The government have created the eatwell guide which aims to educate the public on healthy food choices. Task 1: Draw out the eatwell guide ‘plate’ and use the link below to identify a range of different foods found in each section. Think about how these ingredients are linked and what forms they come in. https: //www. gov. uk/government/publications/the-eatwell-guide Task 2: Choose one ingredient that can be found in each section and create a dish that uses all 5. You may want to use the internet to support your recipe. Think about the different ways you can use ingredients, some ingredients we think as being sweet (like chocolate) can be used in savoury recipes such as chilli con carne. 1 2 5 4 3
