Quail Valley Sewer Improvements • Quail Valley (QV) – 1, 390 existing dwelling units

Quail Valley Sewer Improvements • Quail Valley (QV) – 1, 390 existing dwelling units on septic tanks • Proposed project will install a gravity sewer system for QV Sub-Area 9 (SA 9), Phase 1 area and abandon existing septic tanks QUAIL VALLEY • QV SA 9, Phase 1 area covers 149 existing homes and 66 vacant lots for a total of 215 lots PHASE 1 SUBAREA 9 www. emwd. org 2

Recent Progress • EMWD received a grant of $500, 000 from SWRCB and successfully

Recent Progress • EMWD received a grant of $500, 000 from SWRCB and successfully completed the planning and preliminary design of the Quail Valley Sub-Area 9, Phase 1 Project • EMWD secured an additional grant of $1. 93 million from SAWPA that allows further project advancement to final design • EMWD has received a preliminary commitment from SWRCB for an additional $7. 5 M to advance construction • EMWD is working with Audie Murphy Ranch Development to coordinate regional improvements to convey sewage from Quail Valley to EMWD treatment facilities www. emwd. org 3

Sewer System Right-of-Entry Agreement • Allows EMWD staff and consultant to access the property to gather necessary design information for onsite sewer/septic system improvements • Agreement limits EMWD’s and consultant’s use of the private property for the following: o Surveying work o Site investigation to locate septic tank and house connection o Identify existing landscape/hardscape improvements along residential lateral alignment Sample www. emwd. org 6

Next Steps • Continue to pursue having homeowners complete the sewer system Right-of-Entry agreements with EMWD • EMWD staff and design consultant to conduct property sewer/septic system site surveys – from Nov. 2015 to March 2016 • Once the design is nearing completion and funding grants secured, EMWD will hold additional public outreach meetings to discuss project funding and costs and obtain new right of entry agreements for onsite construction activities and septic tank abandonment www. emwd. org 8
