Grading ● Regular assessments/feedback ● Learning will be assessed using a variety of methods ● Specific grading policies will vary by teacher (see Syllabi, in class materials on Teams, or on our website under staff directory) ● Students are encouraged to be self-reflective ● Each class will provide more specific information on grading and assessment ● Students will receive progress reports and report cards per the 20 -21 calendar
Importance of Relationships Our district focus in this unprecedented time will be on the physical, emotional and social health of our students. Social Emotional Support(SEL) We understand the concerns parents have regarding their child's social emotional needs during distance learning. Attendance ● Focus on engagement with learning ● Communication is important ○ ○ If your child is ill, call school office Communicate with teacher if there are circumstances that arise ● Teachers will reach out to students/families who are not engaging or responding ● Student will be marked absent if they are not attending virtual meetings (Teams) Communication is key; we are here to support you and your student! Note: In the event of any absence, it is the student’s responsibility to communicate with their teachers to set up a review time during afternoon support sessions. Failure to participate in the distance learning platform will be documented and result in no credit or a failing grade.
Attendance Tiered Re-engagement Strategies: Unexcused (Unverified) Absences ● 1 & 2 absences: Notification to parents/guardians, admin notified ● 3 absences: truancy letter sent to parents and conference with administrator. This will be considered the Student Attendance Review Team (SART) meeting. ● 4 absences: same as day 3 with documentation in Q. ● 5 absences: Home visit with SRO and or counselor/administrator. Students and parents will be scheduled via certified letter to attend the East Union High School Attendance Review Board (SARB).

Behavioral Expectations During Live Sessions ● During live sessions, all students are expected to conduct themselves in the same manner they would if they were on campus ● Dress code, setting during live sessions ● Teachers will explain their virtual classroom expectations and students are expected to follow them ● Cheating and/or plagiarism will not be tolerated and will be handled in accordance to the distance learning discipline guidelines and district policy Board policy on Student Use of Technology
