West Concourse Restroom Art Murals Wade Acuff Growing up in Avon, Miss. , Wade Acuff loved to draw and decided to make a career out of his passion working as a freelancer in motion graphics, animation and visual effects. When he is not working on contract assignments, he focuses on his own artwork. Acuff won the Crossroads Film Society 2017 Ruma Award, which recognizes the most promising Mississippi filmmaker each year. His winning piece, "Always recording, so make something beautiful, " depicts a robot that is holding a video camera on its shoulder and has multiple camera lenses as its eyes. Acuff says, "The idea behind it was, 'We're going to be recording things in our lives, so we might as well make something beautiful. ’” Acuff says he is pushing himself to do more artwork and less motion-graphic work. Coming Soon DON JACOBS Don Jacobs is a Jackson, MS based artist/muralist/faux finisher who specializes in realistic large-scale paintings and murals. Don Jacobs established himself as one of Mississippi's leading muralists and has works in collections scattered from California to Europe. His work has been featured in (and on the cover of) MISSISSIPPI Magazine, and he's been the subject of Mississippi Public Broadcasting television segments on both "Mississippi Roads" & "Southern Expressions" as well as their radio broadcast of "The Mississippi Arts Hour". Don returned home to Mississippi after spending nearly a decade in Europe, to pursue a career as a Commercial Artist, which eventually led to a fascination with large-scale painting and a specialization in mural work. Though trained in Graphic Design, he’s self- taught as a painter. Portraits are: Fannie Lou Hamer and William Faulkner. Coming Soon Adrienne Domnick is a painter and creative designer working in Jackson, Mississippi. She has had a number of solo shows featuring her unique portraits of hip-hop, jazz, and other artists and has participated in many shows at the Mississippi Museum of Art. Her artwork is often colorful, bold and lively portraits of African American artists and musicians. She draws inspiration from the music she loves and the artists she admires. Adrienne Domnick recently opened And Gallery, an independent, artist-run space for emerging artists with my good friend Tyler Tadlock. Adrienne says, “opening the space we have been able to foster a peer group of artists for feedback and growth”. Portraits are: Faith Hill and BB King.
