Brief History • Qing (Ching) Dynasty from 1644 -1911 – Known for times of peace & prosperity – Last dynasty of China • In 1902, the Boxer Rebellion began. – The Boxers killed all of the foreigners in China. • When the rebellion ended the neighboring foreign countries forced China to pay $330 million in fines. • In 1912, China discarded having an emperor and founded the provisional government of the Republic of China.
