Dynamic Dunescapes Citizen Science: Water Table Depth (Dipwells) Survey v
Water table depth Tracking water table depth in dune slacks. The aim of this survey is to monitor water table depth in dune slacks (seasonal wetlands) within the sand dune system. Water table depth influences the type and health of dune slack vegetation and on species like natterjack toads and many insects that also use dune slacks or damp sand.
Why? What is the water table depth in dune slacks and how is this changing over time? This will give an indication of nutrient, climate change and other impacts on vegetation communities in dune slacks.
Where and when to survey Dipwells in dune slacks should be surveyed at least once per month. This video shows you how to take dipwell measurements. If you are using paper recording forms, please return them to the site Manager. Watch this video on You. Tube: https: //www. youtube. com/watch? v=LR 2 Akqh. V 9 YY
