Initial Checklist Mutual goals are important for the partners to be working towards in order to know what the end results that will be accomplished are to be. Reasonable expectations of the other member should be imposed so that the other member does not have too high of expectations that can’t be met or accomplished. Expectations of the assignment are to be fully understood and input from both students is necessary. Equal amount of work done on both ends in a timely manner.

Additional Skills When handling conflict in the working relationship before addressing the issue ask yourself: What is my goal for this relationship? “How would I behave if I really wanted these results? ” (2002, Patterson et al. , pg. 34 -35) Personal growth while in a dyad is just as important as the growth of the dyad itself. If one individual stays stagnant, as the dyad grows, then a separation may occur in the relationship. Understanding compromise is important when in a dyad relationship. You cannot expect for everything to go your way.
