FINANCIAL AID Financial is provided at Duke University. Family contribution: the amount expected from parent(s) and the amount expected from you. SCHOLARSHIPS Scholarships are given at Duke University. When applying make sure to follow the requirements and contact the Finacial Aid Office for any questions or concerns about the scholarships. 2 Major Scholarships: MAC Anderson Scholar: This is a summer foreign language study scholarship. Pop Trinity Scholarships: The award covers full tuition, fees, room & board, and a small stipend for books. It is subject to renewal for the scholar's four years of undergraduate study. Trinity Scholars are offered up to $6, 600 for research or other educational enrichment programs. University Scholars Program: The award covers full tuition, mandatory fees, room & board and is subject to renewal for the scholar's four years of undergraduate study. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS In order to apply for Duke University students need to take ACT tests or the SAT + 2 SAT subject tests. Applicants need to show academic achievement and performance. 3 letters of recommendation are need. 2 from teachers and 1 from a counselor. A quality essay and previous tests scores. Duke University looks for students who are committed and motivated to pursue their education. It is not a matter of how smart you are but your passion for learning along side with history of extra curricular activities.
HOUSING Duke housing is separated in 3 sections. East, West and Central Students are required to live on campus for 3 years and the 4 th year is optional. First-year students are assigned to houses to allow students to meet people from diverse backgrounds. Students have an option to their preferences for things like single rooms, single-sex or coed halls. There are performing arts residence, in which students tend to share an interest in artistic learning. Residence halls are grouped into neighborhoods. There is a faculty-in-residence in most halls, as well as residence coordinators and residentialassistants who help on campus students.
