Dueling* Dragons: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15… The Story Red Dragon and Purple Dragon are moving toward each other. They have had an argument and they want to settle the argument by having a duel. It’s your job to keep them apart. There is one mystery number that will prevent them from getting close enough to duel. You need to figure out the mystery number before they reach other. NOTE: They need to learn how to settle an argument with words, not by fighting. *Duel: A fight between two individuals, not to kill but to settle an argument or establish who was better; always fought in front of witnesses. Will the dragons meet in the middle? ? Will there be a number between them to keep them from dueling? Dueling Dragons: Game Rules Dueling Dragons Game – for a leader and any number of children Material: - class number line, - 2 dragons facing each other on the number line, one at each end of the number range chosen for the game. The leader says, “I’m thinking of a number between 0 and 15 (or any two numbers). Players take turns guessing the number. If the number guessed is too small, the leader says “Your number is too small, ” and moves the dragon on the left to cover that number. If the number guessed is too large, the leader says “Your number is too large, ” and moves the dragon on the right to cover that number. This continues until the mystery number is identified.
