CONCLUSIONS • Extreme Deformation – True strains above ~ 3 – Strain rate above

CONCLUSIONS • Extreme Deformation – True strains above ~ 3 – Strain rate above ~ 103 occurs by DRX, which allows for material flow in the solid state • The DRX regime is outside the “normal” deformation regime. • Dynamic deformation, beyond the “normal” deformation regime, is characterized by DRX. • All ASBs are a manifestation of the DRX regime.
