What are drones? • Drones are unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), and are aircraft either controlled by ‘pilots’ from the ground or autonomously following a prepreprogrammed mission.

Major Features of Drones • Monitoring: GPS Systems, High resolution camera • Collision Avoidance System: Traffic and collision system, traffic alerting system, aircraft proximity warning system. • Weather System: Use a weather radar and lighting detector system

The use of domestic drones Pros vs Cons • Search and Rescue Missions • Facial Recognition software • Scientific research • Speakers capable of monitoring personal conversations • Mapping Land • Criminal Investigations • Surveying privately owned land • Hard to track owners for improper use

Why people get so upset over drones • Most people get so upset over drones because they have no control over them. • They don’t know who is controlling them. (much like youtube commenters) • It is hard to know what kind of drone it is, and what it is doing in the first place. (it could just be someone flying around, or someone recording video.

Current States with drone laws • Legislation introduced in 36 States, active in 22, but only enacted in 4. • Kentucky introduced legislation but adjourned without further action. • Nearly all states have not criminalized the use of drones, even those used for malicious activities.
