Reference No Type of RTA 089 S side collision while overtaking No injuries ﺍﻟﺘﺎﺭﻳﺦ Date 06. 01. 2012 Description ﻭﺻﻒ ﺍﻟﺤﺎﺩﺙ Pictures ﺻﻮﺭ ﺍﻟﺤﺎﺩﺙ ﺻﺒﺎﺣ ﻭﻗﻊ ﺣﺎﺩﺙ ﺗﺼﺎﺩﻡ 8 ﺣﻮﺍﻟﻲ ﺍﻟﺴﺎﻋﺔ ﺑﻴﻦ ﻣﺮﻛﺒﺘﻴﻦ )ﺗﺼﺎﺩﻡ ﺟﺎﻧﺒﻲ ﻋﻨﺪ ﻣﺤﺎﻭﻟﺔ ﺍﻟﺘﺠﺎﻭﺯ( ﻋﻠﻰ ﻃﺮﻳﻖ ﺃﻤﻞ ﺍﻟﺼﻨﺎﻋﻲ ﻭﻋﻠﻰ ﺑﻌﺪ . ﻛﻴﻠﻮﻣﺘﺮﺍ ﻣﻦ ﺩﻭﺍﺭ ﻣﻨﻄﻘﺔ ﻧﻤﺮ 30 At approximately 08: 00 hrs, a two vehicle accident (side collision while overtaking) occurred at Amal Industrial blacktop road, approximately 30 km from the Nimr roundabout. The driver of the vehicle: Mitsubishi canter Reg. No. 9530 DS (Al Turki) experienced a collision with a Fuel Tanker Scania Reg. No. 258 MA (Rabua Nimr), due to the failure of both drivers to recognize the hazard (Al Turki driver failed to recognise the hazard of the left turning vehicle while trying to overtake it, as the indicator on the third party vehicle did not work, and the third party driver failed to recognise the hazard of the overtaking vehicle before he started to turn left). Both drivers of the vehicles and three passengers from Al Turki vehicle escaped uninjured. The Al Turki vehicle got extensive damages, whilst the Rabua got minor damages. 5

The driver Mr. Imran Jousuf of the vehicle JCB (wheel type backhoe loader) Reg. No. 6748 WK, experienced a collision with the driver of the light vehicle Toyota Prado, Reg. No. 7942 WB Mr. Jasenko Pranic, due to a failure to comply with Omani traffic law as he started to turn to the left on the junction failed to realise the hazard of a vehicle overtaking him. Nimr blacktop road, approximately 3. 5 km to the Nimr roundabout (at Nimr C junction). The driver of the vehicle: Mitsubishi canter Reg. No. 4301 WK; Mr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Yaqoobi experienced a collision with camel, due to the sudden appearance of the camel on the road. The driver and the passenger sustained injuries. The driver of the articulated heavy vehicle (Prime Mover) Scania, Reg. No. 3294 MD with Trailer Reg. No 577 ML, Mr Mohammed Bashir experienced a rollover due to the improper vehicle handling and excessive speed while negotiating the roundabout. The driver sustained no injuries. ( ﺍﻟﻤﻘﺎﻭﻟﻴﻦ At approximately 08: 40 hrs, a road traffic accident (side collision) occurred at a cross junction in Marmul on the contractor’s workshop road. The driver of the VELOSI LLC vehicle (Toyota Hilux Reg. No. 3865 YD) got hit to its O/S front by the Ray International vehicle (Toyota Hilux Reg. No. 8142 YB) due to the failure of the driver of the VELOSI LLC vehicle to stop at the STOP Line (also indicated by the STOP sign) and give way to an oncoming vehicle on the major road.
