Examination Permit u Must be 17 years old u Pass the knowledge test. Pass the vision test u Pass the 6 Point ID Verification u Permits are valid for two years and must be carried when operating a vehicle

Examination Permit-Restricitions u u u No driving between 11: 01 a. m. and 5 a. m. You must be accompanied by an Adult Supervising Driver (at least 21 years old and licensed to drive for at least 3 years) in the front seat Only 1 passenger regardless of family affiliation Must display a color coded decal that represents that the driver is a “GDL” driver You can't use cell phones, hand held video games or any other hand held electronic device Seat belts must be worn at all times

Probationary License u u u u Complete the supervised driving period (Examination Permit) Pass MVC's road test No driving between 11: 01 a. m. and 5 a. m. Basic Driver License u You must be at least 18 years old u Complete the Provisional driving period u Go to any MVC Agency with your probationary license and other documents to pass the 6 Point ID and Address Verification u Pay $24 license fee

Adult Road For drivers ages 21 and up, MVC offers a three phase process: u Examination permit u Provisional license (minimum one year of restricted but unsupervised driving) u Basic driver license
