They represent true worship and submission to Allah. In the same way as pillars support a building, so these five actions hold up the faith, keeping it strong and sturdy. 1. The declaration is introduced with the words…. “I bear witness that. . . ” What do you think they will say? "I testify that there is no god but Allah, and I testify that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. “ Ashadu an la ilaha illa-ilah, wa ashadu anna muhammadan rasuloollah. This statement is recited 3 x in front of witnesses, but it must be said with full understanding of what it means. It is always said aloud in Arabic. Saying it in this way, shows full submission to Islam and to Allah. It initiates a person into Islam. 1. Which Muslim beliefs does the Shahadah reflect? 2.
