Draft Budget for CMS Construction in 2002 This document summarizes the funding requirements for all the payments planned in the year 2002 in order to follow the CMS construction schedule Construction will be well under way in 2002, not only for the Magnet, but also for all the subdetectors The Data Acquisition is the only exception, as its construction will only begin by the end of 2002, after the approval of its TDR 23 October RRB-13 2
Draft Budget for CMS Construction in 2002 The present estimates for all payments in 2002 add up to about 90 MCHF (~ 20 % of the initially estimated construction costs) Payments made by end 2000 : 127 MCHF. . Budget for 2001 : 75 MCHF. . Draft Budget for 2002 : 90 MCHF. . Total estimated payments by end 2002 : 292 MCHF… This is about 64 % of the initially estimated construction costs (or 57 % of the revised estimate)3 23 October RRB-13

ELECTROMAGNETIC CALORIMETER ~ 21. 33 MCHF in total The ECAL Project is facing considerable difficulties to find the necessary resources to place its procurement contracts on time The procurement contracts for ¯ end-cap crystals (~ 10 MCHF), and ¯ ADCs are still awaiting authorization These contracts must be placed in 2002 if we want ECAL to be ready for LHC start-up 23 October RRB-13 11
