Doubrava SCORE Follower City Project description Municipality with
Doubrava SCORE Follower City
Project description • Municipality with about 1300 inhabitants • Located in a region historically affected by the coal mining • There are two municipal buildings for the installation of the PV power plant • The installation will be oriented to the maximum energy consumption in the operation of municipal public buildings
The model of financing • Financing from the public budget of the municipality • The necessary part will be the use of subsidies • At the moment, the use of CZ Modernisation fund, which manages the revenues from the trade in emission allowances, is offered.
Starting point • The municipal council decided to use the roofs of nursery school and elementary school buildings • Sparse housing in the village due to undermining – the buildings are far from each other • The potential for the use of generated energy within school buildings is limited by their daily operation and the holiday period • In this setting, the economical use of PV cannot be expected

Preliminary PV calculation – use of energy
Which way to go? • We plan to propose to the municipality the inclusion of other municipal buildings (municipal residential houses, community house, fire station…) • design subconnection of adjacent buildings in order to maximise the use of generated energy • Next step can be inclusion of the private company owning the larger number of rental family houses in the area (former mining colony)
Legislative obstacles • In the Czech Republic is currently not possible to share produced energy through a public distribution network • This limits the use of smart metering as a tool for optimizing production and
Orlova – The next Follower City on the horizon • The Follower City memorandum was signed on Tuesday • The city of Orlova is located nearby the Doubrava village • Sharing of experience and process will be possible.
