Double Norwich: Touches
Calls - general • Calls affect the bells near the back • Calls are like those in Stedman (triples and above) • Both bobs and singles are used • • If near the front, or making places, you are unaffected … including if about to make far places in 5 -6
Bobs – Making the Bob Called during the 5 -6 up dodge in treble bob work The Bob is made in 6 ths place … become 6 ths place bell Then continue with treble bob work down, dodging in 5 -6 down Causes you to do treble bob work in 5 -6 “bob” 6 ths place bell
Bobs – At the back Called during the double dodge in 7 -8 Do an extra dodge for the bob … becoming 8 ths place bell if dodging down, or 7 ths place bell if dodging up Then continue with two more dodges (8 pb – full, 7 pb – last) … giving a total of 5 dodges “bob” 7 ths pb 8 ths pb
Singles – Making the Single Exactly the same as making the bob “single” 6 ths place bell
Singles – At the back Called during the double dodge in 7 -8 If dodging up – unaffected, become 8 ths place bell … and double dodge down (full) If dodging down, make 7 ths … become 7 ths place bell and then double dodge up (last) “Single” 7 ths pb 8 ths pb
