• The entire Science Department has switched to percentages instead of point values for grading all assignments this year. • The following weighted scale will be used to calculate academic grades In a regular Class: 40% Exams 30% Quizzes 20% Labs & Projects 10% CW, HL & Participation In an advanced class: 50% Exams 30% Quizzes 20% Miscellaneous

• Late work will NOT be accepted. Assignments that are not turned in receive a Z in the grade book. • Make-up work will only be given when the child’s absence is excused by the office. It is the child’s responsibility to ask for make-up work. • Both, parents and students are able to view their academic progress through the Dadeschools Portal Students will be responsible for reading assignments as well. Material covered in the textbook, but not through a class discussion may also appear on exams!!

The link is available on our school's website's “Main Menu”. Under the "Student Tab" You will see a "Class Fee Payments" selection. • Parent Volunteer Hours/Donations – Any supplies turned in, must have a receipt attached, and you will be credited at 1 hour for ever $3. 33 spent.
