Knee limagents right ACL: Anterior Cruciate Ligament PCL: Posterior Cruciate Ligament LCL: Lateral Collateral Ligament MCL: Medial Collateral Ligament (including Bibula and Tibial collateral ligament)
Knee ACL Injury The tibia can move forward (anterior drawer) since the ACL does not play its restraining role in this situation
Knee Straps configuration Don. Joy unique combination for ACL Protection • Femur and tibia are anchored proximally and distally with the solid Don. Joy frame • A strap applies an anterior load to the distal aspect of the femur • A strap restricts and pushes the proximal aspect of the tibia posterior controlling the anterior drawer • The ACL is fully protected with the 4 Points-Of-Leverage system • Extra protection can be added with the Don. Joy Fource. Point hinge which dampens the knee extension
4 -Points-of-Leverage™ Clinically proven most effective system to reduce Anterior Translation Point 3: Posterior The third point of leverage is a posterior thigh strap that applies an anterior directed force on the distal aspect of the femur. Point 1: Anterior The first point of leverage is the anterior thigh cuff. It acts as a point for rotating the distal end of the femur anteriorly. Point 4: Anterior Point 2: Posterior The second point of leverage is a posterior calf cuff that acts as a point for rotating the proximal end of the tibia posteriorly. Incorporating the fourth point generates the crucial opposing force. By tightening and affixing the anterior tibia strap, the hinge is drawn into proper position and a posterior directed force acts on the proximal aspect of the tibia, preventing the anterior translation.
Fource. Point™ Hinge Mechanism • The patented leaf spring creates a resistant force during the last 25°of extension (when ACL is at greatest risks). • The resistance created by the spring causes an increasing load on the tibia during extension, which has been proven to increase the flexion angle of the knee joint • Indicated for ACL protection • Counter indicated for PCL
Knee PCL Injury The tibia can move backward (posterior drawer) since the PCL does not play its restraining role in this situation
Knee Straps configuration Don. Joy PCL Protection • Femur and tibia are anchored proximally distally with the solid Don. Joy frame • A strap applies an posterior load to the femur • A strap restricts and pushes the tibia anterior • The PCL is fully protected with this unique frame and strapping configuration
Knee Straps configuration Combined Instabilities Protection • Femur and tibia are anchored proximally and distally with the solid Don. Joy frame • Straps configurations are securing femur and tibia, restricting Anterior, Posterior, Medial and Lateral movements over the natural Range of Motion

Joy braces solid frame and strap configurations keep femur and tibia in fixed position, preventing valgus and varus movements while allowing natural range of motion. It is important to select the brace and its straps configuration based on the knee ligament indication. Improper selection will lead to severe knee injury. Adapted size will allow the brace to function correctly and deliver maximal protection. * ACL: Anterior Cruciate Ligament PCL: Posterior Cruciate Ligament CI: Combined Injury (ACL + PCL) MCL: Medial Collateral Ligament LCL: Lateral Collateral Ligament
