DOGMATISM DEFINED • dog·ma·tism /‘dôgmə, tizəm/ • Noun: The tendency to lay down principles as incontrovertibly true, without consideration of evidence or the opinions of others • In other words: – Dogmatism states that someone thinks they are right with out valid evidence
IN REAL LIFE • Al Gore is a perfect example due to his strong belief in global warming, though he doesn’t have much evidence.
IN THE CRUCIBLE • In the crucible the judges, Danforth in particular are perfect examples of dogmatism. • This is because he thinks that it is right and just top hang all of these people.
