The world saw a lot of revolutions between 1750 and 1850. Many countries were going through times of tremendous growth and change.

Texas was no exception. Keep in mind that Texas was not only growing, but it was settled by people whose fathers were alive during the American Revolution. This independent spirit is evident in both the American and Texas Revolutions

we all have the same feelings and emotions. The feelings of fairness, happiness, sadness, and independence are timeless.

It may seem history does repeat itself because History is made by people who have common desires and emotions-- no matter when they lived. People do look to past events to learn lessons and gather data for current decisions.

The people who lived through the American Revolution and the Texas Revolution faced similar conditions that stirred up common feelings and emotions.

The Texans looked to the lessons and spirit of the American Revolution to guide them in their fight for self-determination and independence.
